‘Ops Sarang’ nets 32 drug offenders

The drug suspects have been placed in police custody to assist investigations.

MIRI: Thirty-two people were arrested for drug related offences in an operation dubbed Ops Sarang on Tuesday.

Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, said the suspects were rounded up in a raid conducted between 4pm and 5.40pm at a workshop house at Jalan Padang Kerbau here.

“During the operation, drugs, believed to be syabu, weighing 13.41g and valued at RM1,950 were seized,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He added that 28 of the suspects tested positive for drugs.

“Four of the suspects were detained for drug possession,” Lim said.

Police believed that the premises was used as a ‘crack house’ by drug addicts.
