KUCHING: Like the other state representatives, Orang Ulu representatives have gathered here to take part in the State Legislative Assembly sitting which began today and will end this Friday.

Among them are Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugon, Mulu assemblyman and DUN Deputy Speaker Datuk Gerawat Gala, Belaga assemblyman Datuk Liwan Lagang and Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau.

“All state representatives are taking the opportunity to put forth requests for much needed projects in their constituencies,” said Dennis.

He pointed out that since the constituencies held by the Orang Ulu state representatives were in the rural areas, it was imperative for them to work closely with the Gabungan Party Sarawak (GPS) government to ensure continuous development in the constituencies.

Besides supporting the state government, they must also work closely with the federal Perikatan Nasional (PN) government, he said.

The Orang Ulu areas, added Dennis, had so far benefited from various projects worth billions of ringgit implemented by the state government.
