Organisations, schools in Matu get MRP funds

MATU: Several organisations and schools here have received minor rural project (MRP) funds amounting to RM99,000.

Jemoreng assemblyman Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya presented the cheques to the representatives of the respective organisations and schools at a ceremony here recently.

The recipients included the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SK Agama Igan, Surau Committee of SMK Agama Igan, SK Igan, Igan Mosque Committee, Perkim (Malaysian Muslim Welfare Association) Igan branch, Igan Women Qiraat Group, Igan Brotherhood Secretariat, Kampung Pulau Igan Mosque Committee and Kampung Baru Dagang Igan Mosque Committee.

Other recipients were the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) of Rumah Anyut Bruan Matu, JKKK of Rumah Gangga Bruan Matu, PTA of SK Bruan Mapal Matu, Mosque Committee and JKKK of Kampung Loba Balu Matu.

At the ceremony, SK Igan and Igan Islamic Development Board also received a special allocation of RM50,000 each from Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Juanda reminded the recipients to submit their activity reports for the previous MRP funds.

He urged them to spend the funds wisely for the betterment of their respective organisations.

“Plan your activities well to ensure every activity will give maximum benefits, not just to members of your organisation, but the community at large and development progress here in Matu.”

Also present was Matu district officer Wan Hipni Wan Mohammad.
