SIBU: More than 100 people attended a gathering organised by Junior Chamber International (JCI) of Sibu Jaya Chapter and Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Micheal Tiang with needy parents and stateless children to get to know the issue better in the newly opened Sibu Jaya Tuition Centre at Sibu Jaya near here, recently.

The event organising committee was led by its chairperson, Losia Gawai.

During the event Tiang also accepted his appointment as patron of JCI Sibu Jaya.

He also announced a grant of RM2,000 to JCI Sibu Jaya and promised to give more so that more outreach activities can be organised.

President of JCI Sibu Jaya Chapter, Fabian Gan thanked Michael Tiang for his generous contribution and support to JCI Sibu Jaya.

Tiang also had a dialogue session with the Sibu Jaya residents to find out their needs. Some parents requested for another school to be built in Sibu Jaya as the present one is unable to accommodate all students in the area.
