MIRI: More than 1,000 elderly and individuals with comorbidities are to be inoculated during this second phase of Covid-19 vaccination programme for this Miri division.

Vaccination of Covid-19 second phase is from April 23 until 29 at three vaccination centres (PPV) namely Miri Hospital, Marudi Hospital and Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club.

This was disclosed by Minister of Transport Datuk Lee Kim Shin, who is also minister in-charge of Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) today when contacted by New Sarawak Tribune.

The one-week second phase inoculation programme prioritises those with comorbid conditions and senior citizens aged 66 and above.

“Yes, we are following the lists set up by the  Ministry of Health (MOH) , whereby we prioritise those with comorbid conditions and senior citizens,” he pointed out.

Commenting on the vaccination process for the second phase which started on Friday for this division, Lee applauded the efforts made by the health workers for making the process smoothly and speedily.

“The distribution of the vaccines went really efficiently; it took between 45 to 50 minutes for an individual and this was followed by a 30-minute monitoring and watch at the site,” he said.

Lee also reminded Covid-19 vaccine recipients to come 30 minutes earlier than their appointed schedule to ensure the smooth implementation of the inoculation process.
