DALAT: 1,371 recipients have benefitted from the Dalat Education Foundation Aid as of March 10 this year since it was introduced in 2005.

Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said of the total, 487 recipients were certificate level, diploma (579), degree (270) and others (35).

“Today, we see 15 more recipients getting a total of RM4,600,” she said at the handover ceremony at Anjung Budaya, Dalat Community Hall here on Friday (March 12).

According to her, the one-off aid was aimed to lessen the financial burden of students who had been accepted to further their studies.

For those who were accepted to study at institutions of higher learning, they received RM1,000, diploma level (RM500) and Form 6 (RM200).

She also presented back-to-school early education one-off aid to 38 families in Zone 2 totalling RM5,700.

Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman, said RM100 was given to a family with one to two children, and RM200 for those with more than three children.
