KUCHING: The seventh ‘Meow Autism Run 2024’ expects to draw around 2,000 local and international participants, aiming to raise awareness about autism.

The event’s organising chairman Timothy Darry highlighted that the 2024 edition would be unique as it invites participants from overseas.

“We’re planning to make the 2024 event international, bringing in people from outside Sarawak and our nearest neighbours. This will help raise more awareness beyond Sarawak,” he said during a press conference at the Kuching Autistic Association’s (KAA) Education Centre today (Nov 17).

Meanwhile Dr. Catherine Chen, president of the KAA, emphasised the run’s goals. “Our main goal is to spread knowledge about autism and encourage unity. The 3km and 5km fun runs are our focus. We invite everyone to join, even if you prefer to walk. We’re hoping for a carnival-like, fun atmosphere in 2024. Come and meet our students,” she said.

The ‘Meow Autism Run 2024’ will take place at the MBKS foyer on Sunday, April 28, 2024. The event will feature three running categories: a 3KM & 5KM Fun Run and a 10KM competitive run.
