MIRI: A 44-year-old jobless man from Kampong Bakong, Baram near here was nabbed detained by police moments after he picked up a parcel of drugs from a courier service office at Jalan Piasau Utara 4 in Piasau industrial area.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of narcortics police ambushed the suspect at the counter at 2.30pm last Thursday (Aug 27), and seized drugs believed to be methylenedioxymethamphetamine commonly known as ecstasy worth RM10,000.

This arrest was confirmed by Miri police chief, ACP Lim Meng Seah, today at Miri Police Headquarters (IPD).

“The drugs weighed around 251.32g,” he said. The suspect is currently under remand and is being investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
