KAPIT: Over 300 youths representing the various state Barisan Nasional (BN) components’ youth wings, youth clubs and Form 6 students attended the Kapit Division-level National Transformation (TN50) Dialogue organised by the Youth and Sports Department at Kapit Civic Centre here, yesterday.

The moderators for the dialogue session were Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Nicholas Kudi Jantai, Deputy Kapit Resident (Development) Galong Luang and Assistant Director of the Youth and Sports Department, Daniel Batin.

TN50 is a long term initiative to express Malaysia’s aspiration by its citizens, especially the youth who will be the future leaders.

Kudi said the government, through the dialogue, would like the youth to voice out their ideas and aspirations of what Malaysia would be by the year 2050, including the government administration, employment and economic, transport, lifestyle and so forth.

He explained all the aspirations from the participants would be compiled and then analysed so that all the good ideas could later be adopted to become policies of the government.

He advised the youth to develop love for science and technology.

“If we still keep to the old lifestyle, we would be left behind because others are moving forward to engage new technology as a way of life,” said Kudi.

Meanwhile, Galong said Kapit was in the process of creating a ‘Kapit Digital Data Base’ in line with the aspiration of Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Haji Johari on technology advancement towards the digital economy.

He said the youth must think positively on how best to develop Kapit in terms of human resources and infrastructure facilities.
