Over 400 technical graduates receive their certificates

KUCHING: A total of 442 trainees from the Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (Centexs) received their certificates at the centre’s fourth convocation ceremony held at Penview Convention Centre Demak (PCCD) at Demak here yesterday.

The graduates received their scrolls in the technical and digital skills in Oil and Gas, Electrical and Port, Construction, Textile and Hospitality and Digital trades from Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip.

Centexs recently launched its digital training programmes which are in line with the state government’s aspiration in transforming into a digitalised high–income economy and producing competent manpower in the digital and technical fields.

According to chief executive officer of Centexs, Syeed Mohd Hussien Wan Rahman, beside assisting in developing and strengthening the state’s human capital and resources, Centexs also welcomed all those that have special talents in technical and digital fields in line with its core mission of producing future technologists.

With the support and collaboration of the Kampung Heritage team, Centexs had set up workshop for its six-month full-time training and incubator project for Sulaman Keringkam and Tenunan Songket Sarawak.

At the convocation, Centexs also presented the Best Student Awards “Certificate of Excellence” to 15 graduates in its course – the Welding Technology 6G, Welding Inspector 3.0, Oil and Gas Construction Crew, Rigging and Slinging, Rotating Machinery, Static Equipment, Wireman Plus, Chargeman L1, Scaffolding, Working at Height Operator Level 1.1, Hospital – Banquet Server Operator, Professional Diploma in Hair Design and Make Up, Fashion Technology (Advanced), Fashion Technology (Basic) and Digital – Android Mobile Application Development.

The fifteen Best Students from the various training programmes who received the Best Students Awards were Hansen Agong (Welding Technology 6G Advanced), Hendry Herman (Welding Inspector 3.0), Clinton Mara Lihan (Oil and Gas Construction Crew), Christopher Lenggang Ngabong (Rigging and Slingging), Timothy Lucas Anyi (Rotating Machinery), Dave Maron Diyah (Static Equipment), Mohamad Harith Haikal Hadanan (Wireman Plus), Ahmad Mujahid Fadzli (Chargeman L1), Razid Rosli (Working At Height Operator Level 1.1), Nazziatul Izreen Zainal Abidin (Fashion Technology (Basic), Lidia Inang (Fashion Technology (Advanced) and Cloudia Jane Jude Ajan (Hospital – Banquet Server Operation).

The Best Student Award for Professional Diploma in Hair Design and Make-Up Programme went to Aina Elmira Anuar, while the Best Student Award for Digital – Android Mobile Application Development Programme was Sharifah Mordiah Syaeed Mohd Hussien.

Among those present at the convocation ceremony were Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chuk Pai Ugon, Ellen @ Manium Engang representing Sarawak Foundation director, general manager of Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) Dr Zaidi Razak, chief scientist and chief advisor for Digital Economy of Sarawak Multimedia Authority Professor Jugdutt Singh and acting director of Sarawak Welfare Department Joni Nuruddin.
