LIMBANG: Until June 4, out of the 40,797 eligible vaccine recipients in the district here, a sum of 5,136 people have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, another 3,792 had taken the second dose.

The latest figures were given by Limbang Division health officer Dr Norliza Jusoh to Bukit Kota assemblyman Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail and his Batu Danau counterpart Paulus Palu Gumbang during their visit to the Covid-19 vaccination centre (PPV) at Dewan Suarah, Limbang on Saturday (June 5).

Dr Norliza also mentioned that two more PPVs would be set up soon – at the Kampung Batu Danau Limbang Bisaya Association Hall and the Medamit Community Hall.

These PPVs could cater to 250 people per day, and hoped  to speed up the vaccination process.

Currently, the PPVs available are at Dewan Suarah, Limbang and Limbang Hospital, which caters to those who have health problems.
