Over RM1 million received at dinner

KUCHING: Contributions totalling  RM1,044,280.00 were  received  at the welcoming  dinner for delegates  in conjunction with the 83^rd Anniversary & the 78^th National Delegates Conference Of the  Federated Teochew  Associations of Malaysia which was held at Pullman here Wednesday night.

The first cheque which amounted to RM1,000,000.00 were presented  by United Teochew (Malaysia) Berhad to the Building Fund  Of The  Federated  Teochew Associations of Malaysia.

Teoh Beng Suang, chairman of United Teochew (Malaysia) Bhd handed over the cheque for that amount to Dato’ Seri  Ooi Soo Hing, the President of  the Federated  Teochew  Associations of  Malaysia.

The second cheque for  an amount of RM 20,000.00 was presented by the  Persatuan  Teochew Kuching to Building Fund Of The Federated  Teochew Associations Of Malaysia.

The third cheque for RM24,280  for Study Loan and Scholarship was presented by Persatuan Teochew Kuching to The Federated Teochew Associations of Malaysia.

Penghulu Tan Tuan Yee, the President of Persatuan Teochew Kuching  presented  the cheque to Dato’ Seri  Ooi Soo Hing, the President of  the Federated  Teochew  Associations of  Malaysia.

Minister of  Local Government and Housing Sarawak, Senator  Datuk Professor  Dr Sim Kui Hian was the guest- -of -honour  at the dinner.
