Over RM200k grants disbursed

KUCHING: Nineteen organisations including a chronically ill patient received grants totalling RM215,100 from the government and Puncak Borneo Service Centre on Saturday (Nov 14).

Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Willie Mongin handed over the cheques in a simple ceremony held at the centre here.

Willie, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Puncak Borneo, further said that the assistance fulfilled applications from the needy for various activities.

“It is hoped that each organisation will use the allocations to hold the activities successfully,” he said during the programme.

The recipients are:

1.    Siburan Seven Day Adventist Church (RM20,000);

2.    Siburan Seven Day Adventist Church in Padawan (RM3,000);

3.    Sarawak Bisapug Association (RM20,000);

4.    Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) RPR Bt.18 Siburan – Bidayuh community (RM10,000);

5.    Dragon School Alumni Association (RM10,000);

6.    Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SRK Patung (RM5,000);

7.    Kampung Menjau Seven Day Adventist Church (RM10,000);

8.    Women’s Bureau of Kampung Tijirak (RM15,000);

14.  JKKK Kampung Batu Gong Baru (RM15,000);

15.  JKKK Kampung Batu Gong Lama (RM20,000);

16.  ‘Ladies Guild of Grace’ of Kampung Subang (RM5,000);

17.  Puncak Borneo Prison Staff Sports Club (RM2,000);

18.  Ladies Guild of St. Thomas Aquinos (RM5,000); and

19.  ‘Pertubuhan Penginjilan Pentekos Sarawak’ (RM45,000).
