Owners of abandoned cars issued ‘Removal Notice’

KUCHING: Three abandoned vehicles that were taking up valuable parking spaces in front of shophouses at Taman Desa Paul were causing problems for the contractor to completely tar-seal the road and parking area.

Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) chief, Wilfred Yap was approached by the business operators of Taman Desa Paul, 6th Mile, Penrissen Road here who told Yap of the abandoned vehicles.

Following the meeting, Yap went with enforcement officers of Padawan Municipal Council went to Taman Desa Paul to see what can be done to solve the problem.

It was discovered during the inspection that the three abandoned vehicles were without any valid road tax stickers.

Yap would like to thank the enforcement officers from Padawan Municipal Council for their speedy action in issuing removal notices to the vehicle owners.

In the event the abandoned vehicles are not removed within the stipulated period, the enforcement officers assured that the vehicles would be removed with the cost of removal to be borne by the vehicle owners.

Yap advised the public to cooperate and be considerate and not to leave or abandon their vehicles on the council’s property.
