Pandelela Block launched to honour state’s diving medallist

KUCHING: A special block in P’Residence condominium named after the Olympic and World Aquatics Championship medallist Pandelela Rinong Pamg was launched here yesterday.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg was present to officiate at the Pandelela Block at the condominium in Batu Kawa.

He also handed over the access card of the fully furnished apartment unit to Pandelela on behalf of the developer Tenaga Stabil Sdn Bhd.

“The launching of this block and presentation of an apartment unit to Pandelela is a recognition of her achievements in the diving event in 2016’s Olympic Games and other world events which brought fame and honour to the state.

“This reflects the talents that Sarawakians have. If you have the ambition and perseverance in whatever you want to do, you will of course achieve success,” he said at the event.

Among those present were Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian, Youth and Sports Assistant Minister Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Padawan Municipal Council (PMC) chairman Lo Khere Chiang, PMC deputy chairman Datuk Ahmad Ibrahim, Lebuhraya Borneo Utara Sdn Bhd chairman Tan Sri Abang Ahmad Urai Hakim Abang Mohideen and Tenaga Stabil Sdn Bhd managing director Hong Boon Swee.
