MIRI: Parents and academicians have expressed their support for the Saudi Arabian government’s move to send their teachers specialising in English, Mathematics and Science to Malaysia.

The effort was part of the two countries’ bilateral relations initiatives. This was announced by Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik recently.

“It is good to know that teachers from another country are coming to Malaysia to gain experience in a specialised field,” said academician Cr Karambir Singh.

“This implies that in Malaysia, we have highly experienced teachers in math and science subjects who have the ability  to share their skills and
knowledge. I hope everyone will benefit from this kind gesture by the Saudi government,” he added. Sharing a similar view was Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Jalan Bintang parent-teacher association vice president Iqbal Abdollah.

“It is a win-win situation. We provide the teaching experience for their teachers while in return, their government offers scholarships to 300 Malaysian students to study in their country,” he said.

He believed that the collaboration would create more opportunities to help boost Industrial Revolution 4.0 for Sarawak and Malaysia.
