MIRI: Piasau Garden Recreation Park here could soon be getting a makeover.

Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting, who is also Piasau assemblyman, today (Feb 24), when met after conducting a site visit to the park, said he wanted to make it more accessible for over 400 people who reside within the area as well as children-friendly.

“Perhaps, we can add in a workout area and a children’s playground,” he said.

Earlier, Ting expressed his satisfaction with the construction work of the 373-metre walkway at the park, which is about 85 percent completed.

The construction, using funds under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) from Ting, costs about RM100,000 and expected to be completed on March 3 this year.

During his visit to the park, Ting was accompanied by Miri mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang, Cr Tan Lek Jin and Cr Warziedia Ahmad.
