KUCHING: A car parked in front of a hotel along Jalan Wong Nai Siong in Sibu was burnt yesterday.

According to the Fire and Rescue Deparment (Bomba) spokesman, they received an emergency call at 9.11am and deployed eight personnel with an fire engine and an EMRS vehicle from Sibu fire station to the scene.

The firefighters arrived at the scene two minutes later and found that the owner of the vehicle had already put out the flames.

The spokesman said the operations commander reported that about 30 per cent of the engine compartment was damaged by the fire and the operation ended 9.19am.
