KUCHING: A car parked in front of a house in Taman Peaceful here was engulfed by flames this morning (Feb 25).
Fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties reported in the 9.06am incident.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that firemen from Petra Jaya station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call.
Upon arrival, the team found that the fire had completely engulfed the Proton Waja belonging to a 72-year-old man.
The team quickly went to work, using water sourced from a nearby fire hydrant to extinguish the flames.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team departed back to their station.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred is still under investigation.
