Participants learn world-class management practices

KUCHING: Some 17 participants attended the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) “Leadership Workshop for Senior Management” programme here.

The workshop is about management, leadership and co-operation in an organisation, which aims to enhance the productivity of employees and the organisation.

MPC Board of Director Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg said the workshop promoted higher productivity through the application of business excellence and other relevant tools in an organisation.

“The benefit of attending this course is for senior management to be able to establish a culture of quality and afford to transform senior executives into insightful and impactful leaders,” he said.

“I hope that through this workshop, participants will be able to explore more about the leadership mindset and behaviours of a fast-changing world.

“Thus, we can accelerate the quest of nurturing excellent organisations that promote higher productivity and world-class management practices, especially in Sarawak,” he said.

He also said that the approach needed in adopting to technology nowadays was a must as technology was ever changing.

“MPC promotes a business excellence adoption through sessions to appreciate the business excellence framework,” he said.

Abdul Karim also said the MPC session was closely connected to leadership.

“Leadership in an organisation is an important criterion and MPC business excellence models this in the workshop.”

In attendance were MPC workshop instructor Professor Dr Haim Hilman Abdullah (University Utara Malaysia), MPC senior manager Waila Mohd Nasir and MPC assistant director Khatijah Rahmat.
