KUCHING: Delegates and participants from BIMP-EAGA conference have gained new and useful knowledges throughout the conference.

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) insights thrilled the delegates, which include working with others to improve the TVET programme at educational institutions.

In addition, the conference speakers motivated the delegates to realise the advancement of digitalisation. Several teachers have already made notes on what they will teach their students once school resumes so that their graduating students can explore their options in TVET.

New Sarawak Tribune spoke to some of the participants on their thoughts, what they have learnt and what their expectation are for the future.

“From this conference, I am more open to sharing with my students, especially those who are still on the fence about continuing their studies in computer science because they believe the work scope will be constrained. I am extremely eager to learn from diverse individuals from other nations and this conference allow us to explore how technology is progressing internationally as well.”

“This conference helps us to identify the best opportunities for students before they leave school, allowing us to mentor and advocate them about TVET. As educators, we are attempting to get students ready for at least the fundamentals of ICT, where they need to be able to operate some apps. I received a lot of inputs from this conference, especially on the importance of digitalisation in our lives.”

“Some of the people I met here don’t even have a background in TVET, but this conference has inspired them to learn more about TVET. We learn how to close the skills gap in the workforce. As one of the speakers mentioned how we can work together with the government, academics, and companies. It will be very difficult to further investigate and establish the TVET implementation without these three parties.
