KUCHING: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) which lost in all seats it contested in Saturday’s general election said it accepted the people’s decision.

PBK had contested in Mas Gading, Bandar Kuching, Stampin and Lanang in the just concluded GE15.

Its president Voon Lee Shan, who lost in Bandar Kuching to Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen of Democratic Action Party (DAP), said that even though the party lost in all the seats, they would not give up easily.

“We do not regret the decision (of contesting) because we have a message for the people of Sarawak and a mission to achieve.

“Therefore, we are grateful to the voters who voted for our candidates in the GE15,” he said in a statement today.

He added that the party was also grateful to Sarawakians for using their democratic right to choose the candidate they think is best for the interests of Sarawak and its people.

During Saturday’s election, the PBK candidates were defeated by the Democratic Action Party (DAP) in all four parliamentary seats and losing their election deposits after failing to secure the minimum number of votes required to retain their deposits.
