KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is in no rush to make a decision on working with Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS).

“Wait first lah. Wait for Muhyiddin to settle down first,” said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, referring to recently appointed Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

He said this when met by reporters after officiating at the launch of Sarawak Islamic Council Wawasan Ummah Gemilang 20-30 at Kompleks Islam Sarawak hall here yesterday.

Earlier, PAS had expressed willingness to work with GPS to fight for Sarawak’s rights, with Sarawak PAS commissioner Jofri Jaraiee believing that a close relationship with GPS and Abang Johari in both administrative and political aspects was possible.

Jofri added that PAS leaders wished to forge ties with GPS and the chief minister in relation to mutual economic and social cooperation matters.
