KUCHING: A donation worth RM1,500 was presented by PAS Sarawak branch to the flood victims of Long Busang.

The village located in the vicinity of Bakun Dam was inundated by flood on June 3.

It was known that the floodwaters were about three to five metres high and at least 1,000 villagers were evacuated.

The state’s PAS deputy Youth chief, Syamsul Bahrie Mohd said the donation was raised through its members collection to procure relief assistance for the victims.

“The fund, which was donated by all members in the party, is hoped to be able to ease the burden on the affected victims,” he said in the statement yesterday.

The aid was presented by PAS Sarawak communication secretary Hamdan Sani and its deputy Youth chief to Baitulmal Sarawak representative Zainalabidin Abdul Rahim.
