KUCHING: Father (Fr) Francis Lim, SJ (Society of Jesus) has passed over his position as the principal of St Joseph’s Private Secondary School — after serving for about 10 years — to Fr Stanley Goh, SJ.

It stated that the Jesuit Regional Superior of Malaysia-Singapore Region (MAS) Fr Christopher Soh, SJ missioned Lim to the Jesuit Regional Curia in Singapore.

It noted that the Jesuit Regional Curia is the headquarters of the Jesuits in Malaysia and Singapore thus it was an urgent mission that required Lim’s presence in the Curia as soon as possible.

“Fr Francis Lim, SJ was the principal from June 2012 up to September 2021 with a sabbatical year in 2018 when he went for tertianship, a Jesuit programme several years after priestly ordination,” it said in a recent statement.

Meanwhile, it said that Fr Stanley Goh, SJ is a Jesuit from Singapore but he is no stranger to St Joseph’s Private Secondary School.

It said while he was in formation for priesthood between 2014 and 2016, he taught English and Mathematics while working with the school camps and performing arts.

“He brings with him a wealth of experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration from secondary schools to the university level. Having taught in Singapore, Malaysia, India, and the Philippines, he also brings a global perspective.

“His academic background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Master’s Degree in Philosophy, Theology and Education,” it said.

It added the school accorded a vote of thanks to Lim for his contribution to the school and wished him all the best in his new assignment in Singapore.
