MIRI: A local pastor has suffered a loss of RM430,000 due to a fraudulent investment scheme.

Sarawak Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK Sarawak) reported on Friday that they had received a police report from a man in his late forties regarding an investment scam.

“On July 19, 2023, the victim, while at his house here, came across an advertisement on Facebook for an investment opportunity in foreign stocks, posted by an account named MasterPeng Fengshui.

“He was subsequently added to a WhatsApp group named “Gao Sheng Business School 107.

“In this group, the victim engaged with a woman who identified herself as Yuki, the suspect, who proposed assistance with the purchase of investment shares,” said the report.

Compelled by the opportunity, he proceeded to invest through the website “https://www.kaiduoli.com” and was promised an early return of 10 per cent on his investment within just one week.

He then completed 11 transactions, transferring around RM430,000 to three separate bank accounts, from the beginning of September 2023 until the end of October 2023.
