KUCHING: Part Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy chairman, Senator Abun Sui Anyit has applauded the unity shown by the party leaders of the unity government.
He praised the exemplary leadership of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
“It is good that GPS is strongly behind our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and all three parties are with Pakatan Harapan (PH); they are the backbone of the unity government.
“As long as these four leaders are still with each other, this government is still very strong,” he said.
Abun was speaking at the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house of PKR Kuching, Stampin and Santubong branches at Al-Hassan Café at Jalan Satok toay (May 4).
Meanwhile, PKR Santubong branch chief, Ahmad Nazib Johari, who was present at the event said that his appointment as the new Department of Communications (J-KOM) Sarawak director was blessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“J-KOM Sarawak director is a federal position, the appointment is under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister’s office
“My name was submitted and the position was approved by the SPA (Public Services Commission of Malaysia) and the appointment was blessed by the Prime Minister,” he said.
He was responding to Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Datuk Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah’s comment regarding the federal government’s rumoured appointment of Ahmad Nazib.
Ahmad Nazib added that since the J-KOM Sarawak director position was a federal position, the federal government did not have to consult the Sarawak government before making any appointment.
Among those present at the event were PKR Kuching branch chief Dominique Ng, and PKR Stampin branch chief David Chow.
