PBB bureau donates wheelchair to stroke patient at Kg Bukit Panchor

KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Kampung Paya Mebi Social and Welfare Bureau  recently donated a wheelchair to a stroke patient at Kampung Bukit Panchor.

The wheelchair was handed over by PBB Batu Kitang secretary Shamsudin Unai.

Lizana Abdullah, 56, who is paralyzed on the left side of her body, has been lying in bed since the stroke about two weeks ago.

She  returned home after receiving treatment at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) three days ago.

According to Shamsudin, the wheelchair donation is part of the bureau’s social and welfare programme.

“This is an ongoing programme and we hope more will come forward to provide assistance   to ease the burden of the needy,” he said.

The assistance programme started in 2003 and assistance in the form of wheelchairs, school items, food, etc,   has been given out to the needy.

Just recently, an elderly who is unable to move   also received a wheelchair.
