PBB chides Baru for chastising PM

Date:

KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth has chided Selangau MP Baru Bian for chastising the appointment of Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as Prime Minister.

PBB Youth chief Gerald Rentap Jabu said the Selangau MP showed little respect of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s decree to end the political impasse.

“The move by the Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) presidential council member is akin disrespecting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

“Baru Bian’s continued action of wanting to play politics after the announcement of the ninth prime minister does not respect the decree of His Majesty the Yang Dipertuan Agong who wants the political crisis to end immediately,” Rentap said.

He said this in response to Baru who described Ismail as being ‘indecisive and weak’.

Rentap said Baru should look himself in the mirror as he was part of a failed administration under Pakatan Harapan from 2018 to 2020.

“He had cancelled many development projects for Sarawak during his 19 months as Works Minister.

“During his tenure as Works minister, the original allocation for repairing and improving poor schools approved for Sarawak by the previous government was also not continued,” he said.

The Layar assemblyman added that Sarawak did not receive the best of treatment during the rule of PH, encroaching Sarawak’s rights by establishing the Federal Village Community Management Council (MPKKP).

“Baru also deliberately inflamed racism among the people of Sarawak, especially by claiming that Malaysians are unfortunate because records show that Ismail Sabri is a racist.

“Compared to the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government which has proven to help ease the burden of the people during the pandemic, what has PH achieved?” he asked pointing out that during the PH administration, they always said the government had no money and many allocations were cut including aid to the people.
