KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice-president Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi makes it a point for everyone deserving of help to be assisted through the Pantai Damai Prihatin programme.
Aimed at helping those in need, he said the programme involved 43 villages and housing areas in the constituency.
“This is in preparation for us to face the upcoming state election. We will move to the villages and housing areas to distribute this aid.
“When the movement control order (MCO) began in March last year, we had also distributed similar assistance to the people,” he said when officiating at the Pantai Damai Prihatin 2021 programme in Kampung Salak, here today (Feb 13).
The Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs & DBKU) said the aid distribution this time was more systematic with all PBB branches involved to channel the aid to the identified families.
“For Kampung Salak, we will provide assistance to 108 families. At least this kind of help can ease the burden of families in need,” he said.
Dr Abdul Rahman said the PBB Pantai Damai branch machinery has been active since the beginning of last year to prepare for the upcoming state election.
“We have held seminars and dialogues for our machinery at 15 polling centres to further strengthen the machinery. We will ensure that Pantai Damai remains a PBB stronghold,” he said.
