Fatimah hands over GPS flag to a PBB party representative as others look on.

DALAT:  Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) is already in its fourth gear mode ahead of the 12th State election, said its Women chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.

According to her, yesterday’s event was to prepare PBB election machinery for the coming state election which may be held before June 7 next year.

Fatimah, who is also Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister, said the political scenario now has changed, particularly following the fall of Pakatan Harapan (PH) government after ruling the country for only 22 months.

She said prior to its downfall, PH was really very determined to win and topple the Gabungan Party Sarawak (GPS)-led government.

“In the wake of the new political scenario and with the new GPS symbol, we have to work hard, and now we are in the fourth gear of the election mode,” she said in her welcoming speech at the closing of Sarawak Kita Empun (Sarawak Is Ours) in conjunction with PBB N56 Retreat at Stadium Perpaduan Dalat here yesterday.

PBB Supreme Council permanent chairman and State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Awang Asifa Awang Nassar officiated at the event.

Fatimah who is also Dalat assemblywoman revealed that during the previous PBB meeting in Kuching, it had decided to set up five task forces in preparation for the 12th state election.

According to her, the five task forces were tasked with convincing the voters that GPS, which had introduced many initiatives for the wellbeing of the people, was the right choice.
