KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu’s (PBB) ‘Sarawak Kita Empun’ programme is a platform to prepare women at the grassroots level across the state for the upcoming state polls (PRN).

PBB Women deputy chief Datuk Seri Rohani Karim said the programme was to provide information and guidance to women at branch and sub-branch levels.

“This is a preparation for our women in the field, especially Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), to be ready to face PRN.

“There were a few dialogue sessions where we tried to answer as many questions as possible asked by Beting Maro PBB and 31 sub-branches,” she said during the ‘Sarawak Kita Empun’ Beting Maro programme on Monday (Sept 14).

Meanwhile, Assistant Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Minister Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali said the programme explained to the people the latest topics such as returning the state’s rights.

“This is a programme that we do especially for women, for us to further strengthen our ranks to face any challenge out there.

“We have gone everywhere. This programme will continue until the PRN,” said Sharifah Hasidah, who is Samariang assemblywoman.

Kota Samarahan MP Rubiah Wang also echoed the views of Rohani and Sharifah Hasidah, explaining that through the programme, the state government’s plans on economy and welfare could be explained to the public.

Rubiah said the programme, now in its sixth iteration, had started earlier this year.
