KUCHING: In conjunction with Sarawak’s 60th anniversary of independence, the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) will hold a convention at three zones in the state, this year.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the convention would be held at three zones which are in south zone, central zone and north zone.

However Abang Johari, who is also PBB president, did not reveal the date yet.

“Through this convention, we will update our members on what we have achieved and also to inform them on Sarawak’s future from various economic and social fields.

“We also will highlight on the implementation of policies in the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 to our members because now our economy has shifted to a new economy.

“And we also have a lot of new sectors that are not available in other places which will be implemented in Sarawak,” he said during a press conference after chairing the PBB Supreme Council Meeting at the party’s headquarters here yesterday.

Therefore, he said PBB must update its members because it involved the latest technologies including a technology from Sarawak.

“I have promised to announce a technology from the state ourselves that will change our economy dimension and probably will involve other areas in this world.

“And we hope with this new approach as well as with the cooperation from the unity government, we can continue with our development and these will benefit our people,” he added.
