KUCHING: As the Election Commission (EC) has fixed Nov 19 for the 15th General Election (GE15), Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women wing is geared up to face the parliamentary election.

Its Women Chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah asserted that the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) component parties are ready to face the GE15 with effective strategies.

“Alhamdulillah, with the EC’s announcement, there is no longer any doubt concerning the dates of candidate nomination, voting, and early voting for GE15.

“Following that, the GPS party machinery, particularly the women’s wing of PBB, can accurately plan its strategy and activities around those key dates.

“As per the Sarawak Premier’s earlier this year remark, GPS is ready and waiting for the drums to be sounded for GE15,” she said in a statement on Thursday (Oct 20).

Fatimah who is also the Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development minister recently noted that PBB Women has been on standby mode and anticipated the dissolution of Parliament.

She also stated that PBB Women will collaborate with the Women’s wings of the other GPS component parties to achieve the coalition’s victory in the GE15.

“The PBB Women’s Wing is well aware of its role as a part of the PBB electoral strategy.

“The meticulous role of tracking the voters is well understood by the Women task force.

“This time is significantly harder because of the increase in the number of new voters–those aged 18 to 28, as well as those over this age who are also first-time voters,” said the Dalat assemblywoman.
