Nanta opined on Willie's application.

KUCHING: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) supreme council needs to study and meet before making any decision on Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin’s application to join the party.

PBB secretary-general Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said there are factors which need to be taken into account before Willie’s application is decided upon.

But he said that PBB has not looked into the matter as yet and that a meeting has not been scheduled.

He said this to reporters after a surprise visit to a palm cooking oil packaging factory in Jalan Penrissen, here today.

Willie, who is also Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities had confirmed that he had submitted his application to join PBB a few months ago, saying that he had been “technically” placed in Bersatu to support the current government.

Willie won the Puncak Borneo parliamentary seat in the 14th General Election on a PKR ticket, but was sidelined by the party after he and several PKR MPs withdrew support for the Pakatan Harapan government during the “Sheraton Move” event, before joining Bersatu.
