KUCHING:  Parti Bangsa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) is a platform for Dayaks to voice out what are left unresolved for the last 54 years.

“It’s not a rebellious opposition as many assume,” PBDSB President Cobbold John explained.

“Unlike the Chinese and Malay parties in Sarawak, Dayak parties are different. PBDSB is actually a platform for the Dayaks to have one single voice,” he said.

Cobbold was reacting to PBB Secretary General Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom’s concern regarding Dayaks joining PBDSB.

In a recent press statement, Cobbold had claimed that a group of Dayaks from Teras had expressed interest in joining PBDSB.

Rundi sought proof of such claim from PBDSB and said it was based on Cobbold’s personal assumption without any proof.

Cobbold said Rundi should be proud that a Dayak-based party is being supported by the Dayak community to speak for their rights.

“As the president of PBDSB, why would I make false claim about Dayaks joining a Dayak-based party?

“PBDSB will ensure that this platform continues to exist for sake of the Dayak community,” he explained.
