KUCHING: Parti Bangsa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) has named its president, Cobbold John Lusoi as its candidate for the Sri Aman parliamentary seat in the forthcoming 14th General Election.
Cobbold, from Ubah, Pantu in Sri Aman Division, is not new to politics as he has contested in elections a number of times.
His political career started in 1998 and he contested for the Sri Aman parliamentary seat twice and the state election thrice in Balai Ringin, Kedup and Bukit Semuja.
Before this, Cobbold had indicated his intention to take on Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) president, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing for the Bintulu parliamentary seat due to the latter’s open support for a bill to amend the Syariah Courts Act ( Criminal Jurisdiction Act 1965) (Act 355) in Parliament.
According to Cobbold, PBDSB also might not be contesting in the forthcoming Pujut by-election. However, he said PBDSB was always ready and would put a Kedayan lady candidate on stand by for any possibility that might happen.
