Masing calls for Sarawak involvement.

KUCHING: The Federal government must take cognisance of the fact that Pan Borneo Highway (PBH) is built in Sarawak and therefore the state will comply with its model, said Deputy Chief Minister, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. James Masing Jemut who also said he did not worry about the PDP model being scrapped.

Deputy Works Minister Mohd Anuar Mohd Tahir confirmed today that the federal government has decided to ditch the PDP model for the entire RM29 billion Pan Borneo Highway project in favour of the turnkey contractor model.

In a press statement, Masing who is also Minister for Infrastructure Development and Transportation added that scraping of PDP model from the construction of Pan Borneo Highway is a Federal matter so they can decide what is best to build it.

“Sarawak government will follow what is best to build and finish Pan Borneo Highway within the tight schedule. Sarawak, he added, is not crazy in how or who controls its construction as long as it is built on time,” he added.
