KUCHING: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) on Monday (Sept 21) announced its member Kuan Sam Sui as the party’s candidate for Krian in the next state election.

PBK president Voon Lee Shan said Kuan, who was a contractor working in Singapore and Brunei, had been actively engaged in the PBK’s move to seek freedom and independence for Sarawak from the federation of Malaysia.

Born in a small fishing village of Spaoh in Saratok, Kuan has been active in politics after discovering that Sarawak had not benefited much from its oil and gas resources.

He is also concerned about the lack of development in rural Krian which faces infrastructure, road access and clean water supply issues.
