PBK chief Voon to contest Batu Lintang

KUCHING: Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) has named candidates who will be contesting the urban and semi-urban seats under its banner at the upcoming 12th Sarawak Election.

Its president Voon Lee Shan who made the announcement said that he would be contesting the Batu Lintang seat.

“Raymond Thong will contest the Padungan seat, Teo Kuang Kim (Pending), Lue Cheng Hing (Kota Sentosa), Wong Tun Teck (Batu Kitang), Chai Kueh Khun (Batu Kawah), and Atet Dego (Stakan),” he said.

However there are two more seats, namely, the Demak Laut and Samariang seats that are still available, he said.

“Therefore, we are calling for suitable people to contest under our party in these mentioned seats,” he said.

He said all Bidayuh majority seats namely, Opar, Tasik Biru, Tanjong Datu,Serembu, Mambong, Tarat, Tebedu, Kedup and Bukit Semuja would be contested by a team of professionals including, scientists, engineers and educationists whose names would be released soon.

On Nov 16, the party’s deputy president Peli Aron announced the party candidates for Betong division.

Peli himself will contest in Simanggang, while Wan Chee Wan Mahjar (Sebuyau), Baha Iman (Lingga), Jackiew Chiew (Beting Maro), Kasim Mana (Balai Ringin), Marcus Kayong (Bukit Begunan), Stel Datu Engkilili, and Usop Asun (Batang Ai).

Voon said the party would release the names of all candidates for the state polls in stages at the appropriate time.
