PDP Central Region hosts CNY open house

SIBU: About 4,000 people from all walks of life attended the Chinese New Year (CNY) open house hosted by Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Central Region at Catholic High School Hall here.

The open house began at 9am and ended at 1pm.

The party president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, central committee and party members were on hand to welcome the well-wishers.

Also present were Temenggong Datuk Vincent Lau, deputy chairman of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Datuk Chieng Buong Toon, chairman of PDP Central Region Datuk Lau Cheng Kiong and deputy chairman of PDP Central Region Councillor Teo Boon Siew.

Entertainment items such as singing of Chinese New Year songs by local artistes and lion dance performances were held while children were given ‘ang pow’ (red envelopes containing cash).
