KUCHING: A pedestrian who was trying to cross the road was hit by vehicle and died instantly at Rock Road yesterday morning.
Kuching district police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the incident happened at 7.28 am after the man believed to be Indonesian was hit by the pickup truck.
“The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officers from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH),” he said when contacted yesterday.
He added that the case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
The body was handed over to the police and was transported to the hospital’s forensic department for further action.
