LIMBANG: The unfortunate fate of a family, whose house was razed in a fire at Kampung Belading near here, received the attention of Malaysian Islamic Propagation and Welfare Organisation (Pekida) Limbang, who provided assistance recently.

Its operation assistant Amil Jamjam said the programme was aimed at alleviating the burden of the victims by offering a small contribution in the form of daily necessities and a small sum of money.

“In addition to that, the congregation also helped with cleaning the surroundings of the burnt house.

“Hopefully the assistance provided will ease the burden on the family as well as shed some light on the joy that they will have in the coming days,” he said.

He added that the contributions came from donations raised among Pekida Limbang and Miri members.

“The programme has been the social responsibility of Pekida in providing assistance and contribution to those affected by disaster.

“Pekida Limbang will always be aware of the tragedy that is affecting the local community and will try to provide as much help as possible,” said Amil.
