KUCHING: The Chinese community in Marudi here have expressed their strong support for their assemblyman Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil.

Penguang said he is happy and touched because the Chinese community from the grassroots level in Marudi appreciate his efforts and contributions over the past four years.

“Because of that, they have also expressed their strong support for me,” he said in a Facebook post after attending a dialogue session with 160 Chinese community members at Chan Restaurant in Marudi last Sunday (Aug 2).

He also hoped the Chinese community will continue to give their continuous support to Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

“I hope that we all can work together in order to move towards a better Marudi,” he said.

Penguang, who is also the Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing then said during the dialogue session, among the matters discussed was on his development planning for Marudi town.

“At the same time, I have explained about the roles and responsibility of the community leaders, village headmen, and council members.
