KUCHING: The state government will continue to uphold the people’s agenda through development; ensuring their wellbeing.
In making this assurance, Urban Development and Natural Resources Assistant Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the needs of the rural community will be prioritised.
Following his visit to Kampung Kerubong in Sarikei, he said the applications made by villagers for infrastructure and amenities will be taken into consideration.
“I will try to ensure that each application will be given the proper attention,” he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (Sept 26).
Earlier on Saturday, Len visited Kampung Kerubong to review the applications of the villagers there for several projects.
“Among them is to upgrade the road to the cemetery which is estimated to be 400 metres from the main road junction because the existing road is quite narrow and slippery if it rains,” he said.
The Kuala Rajang assemblyman said he also took note of the issue regarding the absence of a jetty in the village for fishermen to unload their catch.
“I will study and take note of the applications and needs of Kerubong residents. The government will always put the agenda of helping the people as a priority.
“I will continue to find various methods to help improve the living standards of fishermen. Together we strive to build a better life,” he said.
