KUCHING: Marudi townsfolk are urged to heed the movement control order (MCO).
Its assemblyman Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil said dwellers should continue to adhere to the partial lockdown directive after it was extended by another two weeks until April 14 to mitigate the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Unnecessary movements are not encouraged and all of us have to practise social distancing when we need to go out.
“Otherwise, stay home to stop the spread and save lives,” he said in a Facebook posting on Wednesday night.
Penguang urged his constituents to contact the district office, police and the health department for any enquiries or further explanations.
“I apologise for not being with you in this difficult time. Even though I am not physically with you, but my spirit and my soul are.
“I pray to God Almighty that we will be protected and guided, especially through this difficult and testing time,” he wrote.
