LIMBANG: The Federal Ministry of Rural Development through the Community Development Department (KEMAS) is committed to relocating pre-schools throughout the country to permanent sites.

According to the Federal Deputy Minister of Rural Development, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, these include those preschools in the rural areas that are temporarily located in the longhouses, public halls or surau.

“These facilities and infrastructure are very necessary to create a conclusive learning environment as well as to provide comfort to pre-school children to learn perfectly,” he said when met by reporters after officiating at KEMAS Jalur Gemilang and National Month Celebration Programme here today (August 11).

Hasbi also said that Limbang had a neat and new preschool building at Kampung Patiambun while two more had been approved for construction.

“There are preschools temporarily located at rooms in the longhouses and some at the surau.

“We will try to upgrade and build new preschool buildings, especially in the permanent villages.
“We will build permanent preschool buildings in fixed areas and housing estates.
