KUCHING: Perodua authorised sales dealer, Body and Paint Erazoom Parts and Service Centre Sdn Bhd welcomes interested university students who want to have their industrial training at its recently-opened service centre here.

The centre not only provides vehicle servicing but also training to students from local public and private universities, said its managing director Farizsalleh Mohd Ali.

“We do give training to students from Institut Kemahiran Mara (IKM) Kuching, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) and Politeknik Kuching in the areas of automobile servicing, marketing, management skills as well as accounting,” he told reporters when met after the launching of the service centre at Lot 798, Blok 7, Jalan Bako, Demak Laut Industrial Park today.

Students attached with the company will undergo at least six months of training under the auspices of Perodua.

“If the students want to work with us, we are willing to hire them,” he assured.

He added with the opening of the new service centre despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the company would be hiring some 20 to 30 personnel.

“We managed to pull through because of the assistance given by the government under Prihatin and the employee retention programme (ERP) for the staff,” he said, adding that such measures taken by the government had helped the company to minimise its burden.

“Indeed, this pandemic has affected us all. But what we hope is that, in the coming year, it will be a better year for all of us so that things can return to normal.

“This is because the pandemic affected our economy… everything. And we hope this (Covid-19) will be over,” he said.

On a positive note, he added that the sales of Perodua vehicles was recovering especially in the last two months, which saw Perodua record the highest registration of sales in the country.

“The increase in sales results from Perodua which is trying their best to offer the best price to buyers, plus the support from the government as well as banks offering low interest rates,” he said.
