BAU: Pesta Tasik Biru will again be organised next year following its successful 11-day run this year.

The Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) quoted Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep as saying that the celebration of the festival this year was extraordinary with support coming from various parties.

“Among the parties involved are employees from state and federal government departments, Community Heads of Tribal Heads (KMKK), members of the Bau District Council as well as the involvement of various Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).

“This year it was a little different with many products that we presented to our visitors. Not only the Tasik Biru programme itself but changes in the landscape,” he said during the 2022 Tasik Biru Appreciation Night here on Friday.

Meanwhile, he said that as the people’s representative together with Serembu assemblyman, Miro Simuh and Batu Kitang assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang, they have shown a continuous development plan in Bau.

“When we develop the Bau area, we don’t forget the rural areas and that’s why the District Officer invites all KMKK to participate together to make this programme a success.

“We did not abandon the essence of the programmes that involved the villagers and with the existence of such a good network between KMKK and the villagers we managed to hold programmes that did not leave our origin, heritage, and culture,” he said.

Also present were Bau District Officer Anielia Siam and Bau District Council Secretary Ng Siang Wei.
