The company’s subsidiary, Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd-Sarawak Oil (SK OII) teamed up with the Department of Environment Sarawak, Sarawak Forestry Corporation and Miri1 City Council to run the two-day programme, which was attended by 50 secondary school students from various schools.

The activities included a briefing on the importance of hornbill protection and conservation and environmental-themed games at Piasau Nature Reserve, as well as a career talk conducted by Petronas at Imperial Palace Hotel, Miri.

Students from SMK Lutong, SMK Pujut, SMK Merbau, SMK Lopeng Tengah and SMK Riam also participated in an interactive activity including composting and a do-it-yourself (DlY) compost bin conducted by Miri City Council, to create greater conscious on the need to protect the environment.
